SUPER GT 2012 Round 3

June 9th and 10th marks the 3rd round in Sepang, Malaysia of the Super GT after Okayama and Fuji in Japan.

4th April 2012, JPM Motorsports, the organizer of the Malaysia round held a press conference at Pavilion Shopping Center to announce the event as well as the activities planned during the race.

SUPER GT is one of the best spectator sports in the world. The passion surrounding this motorsport is palpable to all, and SUPER GT is proud to say that it has always been committed to remaining fan-friendly. Fans can meet the teams up close in person, and to keep the racing competitive for the fans, SUPER GT imposes ballast penalties to winners. Not only that, SUPER GT is a big believer in the green movement. This year will see the Toyota Prius GT300 battling it out with the rest of the GT300 contenders, and from Round 4 onwards, the Honda CRZ GT300 will also be joining the fray.

For those who not familiar, SUPER GT actually known as ALL-Japan Grand Touring Car Championship (JGTC), it was founded in 1993 and promoted by the GT-Association. There are two classes of race, the GT500 and GT300. Each class is limited by the amount of power the machines put out, 500hp and 300hp respectively. In order to ensure maximum excitement, two classes are run at the same time although points are awarded separately for each group.

Toyota, Honda and Nissan cars of GT500 will be more powerful this year due to the changes of SUPER GT regulation. Meanwhile, Mercedes Benz, Audi, Porche, Lamborghini and Corvette will compete in GT300 class as well as recently released SUBARU BRZ.

Besides SUPER GT race, Super GT fans can look forward to a host of innovative off track activates such as motorshow event with participants from Honda, Porsche, Ford, Alfa Romeo, Toyota, Nissan, Hyundai, Naza World and other manufacturers. Akiba Town, which is a lifestyle themed bazaar for Japanese gadgets for shopaholic. BMX challenge and also the Gran Turismo 5 Asia Online Tournament 2012 Challenge, the winner of which will compete with international players for the title of Asia’s GT5 Champion.

Last year, a Malaysian Book of Records number of 405 cars turned up for the Biggest Supercar and Performance Car Gathering . This year, JPM Motorsport aims to break that record.

Hope to see you in Sepang International Circuit this coming 9th and 10th June 2012!

Achilles Radial Formula Drift Asia 2011

Japanese drifter, Daigo Saito, won round 3 for the second year running in Malaysia and official Formula Drift Asia 2011 champion. His team SPARK Achilles team became the overall winner in the team championship.

Many drift fans were hoping for Diago Saito and Manabu Orido to come out and compete with each other and their wish is granted.Unfortunately, Orido made a rare error on the first run causing him to spin out, and Saito’s close tandem attack on Orido on second run means Saito wins the final race with ease.

some bonus photos to share out, just click the image for bigger size viewing pleasure.

RX7 FD3S Track Machine #2 – HKS Twin Oil Cooler

In my previous post of FD3S track machine, i mentioned that my track machine still got a couple of things need to be modified.

Oil cooler is one of the list (the car only has 1 oil cooler for time being), if you are EVO, SKYLINE owner, your car probably only has one oil cooler even you car running more than 300hp but Rotary engine need two because is running hot in term of water temperature and oil temperature.

well, I managed to secure an used set of  HKS Twin Oil Cooler Kit from Japan yesterday.
Check out the image of the item!!!

HKS twin oil coolers come with air duct too

another closer look of the oil cooler.

Check this out, this is one of the Japanese’s FD3S project car with major HKS  parts fully loaded.

To compare the image below, which is my track machine engine bay, i think i still need more money to burn!

feel shame to post up my track machine engine bay actually.

Just to compare how far I need to achieve that!

Mazda RX7 FD3S Project #39

Lack of updates recently.

The machine still in the mudguard shop for body kit readjustment.

Anyhow, will install Mazda Speed Bumper with custom made lips.

Due to the large size of Trust Twin Oil Cooler kit, we failed to install 2 of RE-Amemiya Bumper, either re-locate the oil cooler or replace the bumper, I chosen to use Mazda Speed Bumper.

A couple of images for different angle.

Forgot to mention, recently I m just built a RX7 Time Attack Machine.

Looking for Tyre Sponsorship & Mechanical Sponsorship for coming Sepang Event.

Mazda RX7 FD3S Project #37 – Mudguard Shop

As usual, writing the same opening again, not significant progress of the car.
Installed the AD-GT kit into the car (6 pieces FRP to make the car slightly wide)

Planning to mimic Initial-D’s Project-D Mazda RX7 FD3S if budget permitted.
So, I m still looking for Genuine RE-Amemiya Hood and RE-Amemiya GT-Wing to replace the current knight-sport FRP hood and Auto-Select aluminum GT-Wing.

The car in the paint shop currently. Yellow or Pearl White? Please leave your comment. Thanks!

The rear view of the car, too much colors!!! Yellow, Black, White, Silver & Blue.. Ops

Also, I need to modify the fuel cover to make it have the same level as the body kit.

My next plan after the paint work, will be ECU tuning.

Bought HKS EVC 5 boost Controller for the tuning purpose to avoid my engine blow due to over boost.

Man, this device is not cheap. No choice but purchased a new one since this is a new model.
